Tech Verge 2026 has helped local businesses take practical steps towards using technology with greater confidence across the Mackay Isaac Whitsunday region. Delivered by Greater Whitsunday Innovation, the three-day digital innovation conference brought together 82 summit participants, 38 Executive Leaders Dinner attendees, more than 20 speakers and industry experts, four expert panels, keynote sessions, live pitches, an Innovation Showcase and networking events.

The program gave attendees a clear view of how digital tools can support real business needs, with sessions covering artificial intelligence, automation, cyber security, connectivity, digital twins, funding pathways and technology applications. Post-event feedback showed strong local interest in turning ideas into action, with 85 per cent of participants already implementing, trialling or exploring artificial intelligence, and 69 per cent identifying artificial intelligence and automation as their highest area of interest.

For many businesses, the next challenge is not interest in technology, but finding the time, knowledge and support to apply it well. Feedback highlighted the value of practical workshops, mentoring and implementation support that can help businesses move from ideas to action. By bringing people, practical examples and expert advice together in one regional setting, Tech Verge 2026 strengthened digital confidence, encouraged new partnerships and supported a more connected, future-focused local economy. The strong response from attendees showed the region is ready to explore technology that can improve how businesses work, grow and adapt.
