Bridging the Boundaries is a Local Buying Foundation initiative designed to enhance collaboration, knowledge-sharing and capability-building for businesses across the Pilbara, Bowen Basin, Mackay, Hunter Valley and Upper Spencer Gulf. This initiative helps local businesses connect with industry, access new opportunities and overcome challenges unique to their regions.
A key part of Bridging the Boundaries is the placement of dedicated regional officers who work directly with businesses and industry stakeholders to support growth and development. These roles include:
- Business Engagement Officers – Assisting local businesses in navigating procurement processes, connecting with industry and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Workforce Development Coordinators – Supporting training and upskilling initiatives to strengthen the regional workforce and meet industry demands.
- Industry Liaison Officers – Facilitating collaboration between local businesses and major industries to drive economic development.
Through these positions and targeted programs, Bridging the Boundaries plays a crucial role in fostering strong, resilient business communities.
