The Local Buying Foundation is proud to continue its partnership with the Resource Industry Network through sponsorship of the 2025 Safety Conference. This event remains the premier safety forum in regional Queensland, attracting leaders and managers from the METS and manufacturing sectors across the Mackay and Isaac regions. The conference provided a vital platform for sharing the latest health, safety, and environment insights from industry experts. Attendees gained practical strategies and tools to strengthen workplace safety culture, improve compliance and enhance wellbeing across their organisations. By fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange, the event contributes to safer, more resilient regional industries.

This year’s conference attracted 220 attendees, including a strong female representation and Indigenous participation, reflecting the diversity of regional industries. Survey feedback highlighted the value of the event, with all respondents agreeing it was a productive use of their time and almost all committing to share outcomes with their teams and networks. Participants said they would recommend the conference to colleagues and other businesses, reinforcing its reputation as a leading safety forum. Attendees also left with new tools, templates and contacts to support practical application of safety strategies in their workplaces.

This sponsorship falls under the Local Buying Foundation Funding Category: Sponsorship, supporting initiatives that deliver measurable benefits to regional communities and industries and aligns strongly with the Foundation’s intent by promoting workforce development and enabling local businesses to access world-class expertise.
