For many Indigenous business owners, knowing where to start or who to turn to can be the hardest part of the journey.
Central to this success has been the role of Marabisda Inc as the local delivery partner. With a strong presence in community, the Marabisda team has worked closely with Indigenous businesses to provide tailored, practical support that reflects local needs and realities. The team has built trusted relationships across the region and supported a growing network of businesses, connecting them with partners, opportunities and services to strengthen their capability and visibility.
Throughout the pilot, Marabisda demonstrated resilience and adaptability. The team responded to challenges such as limited time and competing priorities for business owners by improving how they engage, including creating more accessible channels to stay connected and share information. They also continued to strengthen partnerships with organisations including DATSIP, Many Rivers and Indigenous Business Australia, helping businesses access broader networks and support services.
This commitment has built a stronger, more connected support system for Indigenous businesses in the region. With a focus on listening and adapting, the Marabisda team has continued to refine how support is delivered, ensuring it is practical, accessible and aligned to what businesses need to grow.
What made the difference was not a one-size-fits-all model. Trading Tracks worked because it was flexible and responsive, meeting businesses where they were and supporting them in a way that reflected their individual goals and needs.
Importantly, the pilot confirmed that Indigenous-led, place-based approaches are critical to long-term success. By grounding the program in relationships and community, Trading Tracks created outcomes that extended beyond business growth, building confidence, capability and stronger connections across the region, and that learning is shaping what comes next.
The next chapter of Trading Tracks is beginning in South Australia, where the pilot will bring the same relationship-led approach in the Upper Spencer Gulf. While each region is unique, the focus remains the same. Support Indigenous businesses early, build trust and create pathways for sustainable growth.
At its heart, Trading Tracks is about creating opportunity. It is about ensuring Indigenous businesses have access to the right support at the right time, so they can grow with confidence and participate fully in local economies.
The success of the Queensland pilot shows what is possible. The start of the South Australian pilot shows where it can go next.
