The Women of the Pilbara Forum 2025 brought together people from across the region to share ideas, learn practical skills and build stronger networks. Hosted by the Port Hedland Chamber of Commerce and Industry and supported by the Local Buying Foundation, the event focused on creating opportunities for women in business and leadership.
Over two days, participants attended sessions on leadership, sustainability and wellbeing, with speakers drawn entirely from the Pilbara community. The inclusion of Aboriginal women as presenters added valuable perspectives and highlighted the importance of cultural knowledge in shaping regional development.
Feedback from attendees shows the forum delivered useful outcomes: increased confidence, new professional connections and practical tools to support growth. Many participants expressed interest in continuing these conversations, reinforcing the need for ongoing initiatives that build capability and collaboration.
The forum complements programs such as the HORIZON Indigenous Women’s Leadership Program and Business Boost, which aim to strengthen local supply chains and create inclusive pathways for leadership. By supporting events like this, BHP and the Local Buying Foundation are helping to foster resilient communities and sustainable economic development in the Pilbara.
