The South Australian Local Buying Foundation is proud to announce its support of the 2025 Leadership Development Program, delivered by Regional Development Australia Far North (RDA Far North) in partnership with the Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA). This program will help build leadership skills in the Far North region, empowering participants to lead with confidence and represent the diverse communities they come from.
This is not the first time the SA LBF has supported this initiative. Funding was also provided for the previous intake of the course in 2023, which was very well received by participants and the business community. Many past attendees highlighted the value of the skills and connections they gained, which have since been applied to strengthen their businesses and contribute to their communities.
The 2025 Leadership Development Program is a unique opportunity for up to 20 participants from across the region. Through a 7-day intensive training program, attendees will explore key topics such as leadership fundamentals, community governance, finance, and effective meeting strategies. The program will also cover public relations, succession planning, and behavioural training—critical skills for creating meaningful change in their communities.
Participants will also have the chance to connect with leaders from the Far North through special events, including a launch and a graduation ceremony. These gatherings will celebrate the program’s impact and strengthen the region’s network of future leaders.
Most of the program’s costs will be covered by PIRSA, with a small participation fee required from attendees. The SA LBF’s funding will assist with this fee, helping to ensure accessibility for those selected to participate. Participants will also arrange their own travel and accommodation for up to three trips to Port Augusta over six months.
By supporting this initiative, the SA LBF continues its commitment to fostering leadership and capability development within the Far North’s micro and small-to-medium business community. Programs like this not only equip individuals with essential skills but also contribute to building stronger, more resilient regional economies and ensuring communities thrive into the future.
