The Port Hedland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHCCI) recently delivered an important project to strengthen the visibility of local businesses through the development of an online Business Directory and significant improvements to their website. Supported by funding from the Local Buying Foundation, the project provided an affordable and accessible marketing opportunity for businesses within the Town of Port Hedland, helping them to showcase their offerings to a broader audience.

The new Business Directory has enabled greater promotion of local businesses, leading to stronger customer engagement and increased opportunities for local economic growth. Website enhancements have resulted in improved performance across a range of key areas, including higher traffic volumes, reduced bounce rates, increased total conversions and a rise in clicks and form submissions. These outcomes have strengthened user engagement not only with the PHCCI website, but also with their Business Member Directory and online learning platform.

Through integration with the Web Business Hub, PHCCI has also created a more sustainable and efficient online platform. This has reduced the cost and time involved in platform management, delivering long-term value and ensuring the platform remains a strong resource for local businesses. Members of PHCCI have benefited from enhanced marketing activities and greater visibility, while the broader community now has easier access to business information and services.

This project highlights the positive impact of strategic investment in local capability. By supporting business visibility and growth, improving digital access for consumers and building a sustainable online presence, PHCCI is helping to drive a more connected and resilient business community. The Local Buying Foundation is proud to support initiatives like this that deliver lasting value for businesses, community members and the broader economy.

Business Directory and Website approved for Port Hedland community

December 2022
The Local Buying Foundation has provided funding to the Port Hedland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHCCI) to help develop an Online Business Directory. This project falls under the Industry Promotion and Economic Development category.

PHCCI has a history of supporting local businesses with their printed business directory, but they are now moving to a digital version. This shift is more sustainable and provides businesses with a modern platform to promote themselves. The Online Business Directory will offer free basic listings for PHCCI members and options to promote videos, capability statements, local discount codes, and event promotions.

The directory will be part of the PHCCI website and will link to an Online Learning Platform, making it a useful tool for businesses. This digital approach will help Port Hedland businesses reach more people, encourage local spending, and provide an affordable and eco-friendly way to market their services.
